Thanks Mimi Dear Mimi We are looking for volunteers to Yarn Bomb Lee Park in honor of the Spring Tom Tom Founders festival, April 11 - 17. Sound like fun? You can help by donating yarn, knitting pieces for the yarn bombing, helping with the installation of the art, contributing extra yarn (we all have some stashed away at home) or any or all of the above. Yarn can be picked up and/or dropped off at The Needle Lady. Mimi Calling all knitters! In collaboration with the Tom Tom Founders Festival and The Needle Lady, UVA Arts Administration major Caitlin Kingston is organizing a "yarn bombing" takeover of Lee Park in downtown Charlottesville during the Tom Tom Festival (April 11-17) as part of her thesis project. The plan is to knit a cape onto General Lee, legwarmers onto General Lee's horse, and as many tree trunks in the park as possible (see examples below). Volunteers will be asked to submit one rectangular swatch (1 ft in height with width varying depending on the tree). Submissions of blue, red, green and yellow will be installed in priority locations, although submissions of all colors are welcome. If needed, we can provide yarn in these colors and knitting needles at no cost. We are also looking for volunteers to help install the piece during the week of the festival, as well as project managers to help with organization. This is a fun way to get involved with the Charlottesville community and have your work displayed for thousands to see! Please send your name and contact information to .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) if you are interested in participating. Contact Caitlin if you want to help. She can give you further details. The link to Caitlin's email from the original email is adding an extra "c" at the beginning of the email.
