Beginner/Intermediate Knitting Classes

When: Saturday January10, 17, 24, 31

Time: 2-4

Cost: $70

Instructor: Mimi Hyde

Have you ever admired a knitter’s speed and discovered that they are holding their working yarn in their left hand?  They are knitting in the Continental style.  Continental knitters hold the yarn in their left hand, which allows the knitter to simply scoop, or “pick”, the yarn with the right needle. This has a reputation of being the fastest knitting method. One aspect contributing to the reputation of speed is an efficiency of movement between knit and purl stitches. For knitters with shoulder pain, this could be a solution that still allows you to knit.

Now is your chance to learn how to knit continentally.  Join Lori for the first of several continental knitting classes.  This first class will begin with the knit stitch. Bring some light colored worsted weight yarn and appropriate needles US 7 or 8. This is not a beginning knitting class but a new knitting technique.  Limited to 5 students.
