Hello and welcome to The Needle Lady! We are a full service yarn and needlework shop
located on the historic downtown mall in Charlottesville, Virginia.
Our shelves are brimming with incredible yarns from all over the world. We carry Anny Blatt,

carry a diverse inventory of bags, including Offhand Designs, Namaste, and Lantern Moon,
and lots of books, needles, patterns and supplies.
Our walls are covered with magnificent needlepoint canvases, many of them custom painted
in-house. The threads that we stock are Waverly Colors persian wool, Appleton wool, DMC wool,
perle cotton 3 and 5, and floss, Anchor floss, and Kanagawa and Madeira silks.
Our staff is knowledgeable, helpful and always a lot of fun. Come and visit us when you

JANE SLICER SMITH IS TEACHING AT THE NEEDLE LADY THE WEEKEND OF SEPTEMBER 26 and 27! DON'T MISS IT!
Jane Slicer Smith is a UK native and a resident of Australia. She has been designing knitwear under her label Signatur Knits since 1980. She is best known for her A-Line and Swing Coats. We are thrilled to host Jane at The Needle Lady for the weekend of September 26 and 27. Jane's classes at Stitches are always sold out. We are able to offer you one of the world experts on knitted garment design in a much more intimate setting. Classes will take place at the Omni hotel, two blocks east of The Needle Lady.
Celebrate the release of her new book Knit the Colors of Australia: Swing, Swagger, Drape.
We will kick off the weekend on Friday night with a Wine and Cheese Knit Night with Jane. Try on her models and make new friends. On Saturday she will teach 2 classes, the morning class is Mitres by Design; the afternoon class is Textures --Designing with a Combination of Stitches. On Sunday Jane will teach a 6 hour class on Fit and Style. In this class she will share her tricks and techniques in making garments to your own measurements. On Saturday night The Needle Lady will be open to participants only for a social night of knitting.
Saturdays classes will be $40 each, and Sunday's class will be $80. Make a weekend of it and save--the full package is $150 which includes all of the classes and the Friday and Saturday night events at the shop. Call the shop to reserve your spot at this special event!
KNITTING NIGHT!!!
WE ARE NOW OPEN LATE FOR "KNIT NIGHT" TWICE A MONTH. JOIN US THE FIRST AND THE THIRD THURSDAY OF THE MONTH FOR A "KNIT NIGHT"! Join us either or both of those nights. We will be open from 5-8pm on the first and the thirdThursday of the month for a social knitting night. The next two "Knit Nights" are Thursday, July 2 and Thursday, July 16. These nights are not set up for teaching, merely social. If you are a visitor to Charlottesville, join us on these Knit Nights and make some new friends.
